At the heart of the Thunderbass’s wide dynamic range and meaty tone is a painstakingly perfect match of
specially devised circuitry, acoustic design, and select hardwoods. A straightforward control setup consisting of a master volume, active treble and bass/cut control knobs. The pickup blend knob governs the
two active pickups and preamps with three proprietary tone modules specifically designed for Pedulla by Bill Bartolini. The “Thunderguts”
switchable circuit accesses the thicker and growl low mid growl while maintaining the Thunderbass signature punch. The result is maximum tonal versatility with minimum control panel; clutter. The Thunderbass is
offered in two styles, the T and the ET. Both are available in 4, 5, 6, and 8 string models, all with neck-through-body design. Due to differences
in build and materials, the ET had the deeper voice of the two. Both are extremely responsive to the nuance of the players most subtle technique. The T features a rigid three piece
neck of quarter sawn maple flanked by two wings of AA, AAA flame maple, or AAAAA flame or quilted maple, finished in a lustrous and durable polyester. The ET (“Exotic Top”) uses laminated wings set to
our five piece neck that includes two thin strips of Bubinga. The increased laminating redefines the attack, while the Bubinga accentuates
the lower mids. Choice of “tops” are Zebra, Bubinga, Cocobola, Red Heart Quilted Maple, Maple Burl, Arbutis Burl, Redwood Burl, AAA Flame
Maple, and AAAAA Flame or Quilted Maple. all laminated on a soft maple back. This combination produces a considerably different tone: deeper, rounder, with a well defined sweet high end. The ET is finished with a
satin durable finish that give the feels and look of a fine oil finish with the protection of a durable hard finish.
